Over the last couple of days I have been putting the website design together. I think it's been a rather simple and easy process as the simplicity of just using images with bits of type adds a rather visual element to the fact that the packaging is all very simplistic and embellishment free.
- The website opens on this page which is just a photo of the coffee beans and the logo:
- when the user scrolls down, they will firstly get to this page which tells them about the area of Sipi:
- scrolling further then takes them to the philosophy of the Sipi Coffee brand:
- scrolling down further then takes the user to the section about the production process:
- after the first page, as they continue scrolling down, the webpage begins to move sideways taking them through the step by step process of the coffee production:
- after the last sideways page about the process, the website starts moving down again to a page about the tastes of the coffee and the products available:
- then the end of the continuous scrolling page is the shop:
(the images for the shop will be added in once I have printed and photographed the packaging)
- this is then the shape of the website homepage:
- I actually think this is quite successful for telling the story of the area and engaging the customer. It gives the brand more of a personality and allows the customer to connect with where the coffee comes from more than with other big named brands.
EDIT//
At the suggestion of a couple of people in the class, I have changed the layout of the type on the third page (Our Philosophy) as it felt rather disjointed before and now seems to flow much better:
