Design Context - Packaging Net for Publication

I've made a really simple net to package the book and cards in:

The net will be kept white with a 'Design Scandinavia' vinyl added across in the same way as on the publication.

Design Context - Further Development

After I had produced the book and had it printed, I decided there was no real connection in what I had done to my own personal practice so I decided to package the book with some cards which tied the case studies to my practice.

I have created these A5 sized cards with quotes and explanations I have written to tie them to different areas of my practice:

The influence of Scandinavian design:

The Scandinavian Design Aesthetic:

Branding & identity in Scandinavia

Exploring Scandinavia's design talent (introducing the case studies/book)

Intro card:

Design Context - Cover Developments

After putting together the main body of content, I developed the cover design:

I decided the most effective approach would be to keep the cover white and to add a white vinyl title once the book had been printed:

This meant that I added the tag line to the first inside page:

Design Context - Putting The Publication Together

As I have already sorted out and collected the content for the book it was simply a case of adding it into the double page spreads for each case study:

This was a fairly quick and simple process once I had decided on a really basic layout for the spreads. For each case study, the opening page begins on the right hand side, then it is a double page spread about the case study, then on the next left hand page is all the information about the studio or designer whose work it is.
