After trying to use sticker labels to put the information on the jar which didn't work, Jack suggested to me that I simply cut the logo out of vinyl and applied just that to the jars. This would make them more of a collectable kind of item and add a bit more value to them. The important information can then be applied to the jar in the form of a tag, making it fit more in line with the hessian sack and its tag for the roasted beans.
James in the print room helped me set up the document, cut the vinyl out and then apply it across the jar, and for my first attempt I don't think I've done too badly!
This looks much cleaner and more in fitting with the style of the brand than the previous idea and the addition of the tags also adds to the design of this packaging.
The tags are pretty much the same as the ones for the coffee bean sacks, but in the corresponding colours of the regular and decaf varieties:
- I made and printed two different varieties as I'm not sure which sizing would work best with the set til I have the chance to try it.
I also kept the coloured sticker on the top of the jar so that even after the tag has been removed there is something on the jar to discern whether the contents is regular or decaf coffee.
