As a bit of a boost and to get another brief done quickly, Lisa C and I have decided to attempt a YCN competition brief in a day. We've decided to do the Cath Kidston one as we like the challenge of pattern design and think it would be doable in one day.
This is the plan we have for breaking down our working process today:

11:00 - 12:00 - Brainstorm ideas
12:00 - 12:30 - Finalise ideas
13:00 - 15:00 - Execute design
15:00 - 15:30 - Mini crit
15:30 - 17:00 - Develop ideas in response to crit
